A Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) and a graduate of the University of Nairobi. With a career rooted in excellence and compliance. Alfred began his professional journey at Deloitte, where he gained extensive experience in audit and advisory over a four-year period. He then joined Diamond Trust Bank, serving for three years in various finance roles before founding Cheror Lagat and Associates in 2012.
As Managing Partner, Alfred brings over a decade of leadership and financial expertise to the firm. He is primarily responsible for ensuring that all financial reports, audits and advisory services are fully compliant with IFRSs, Kenyan regulations and other statutory standards. Alfred provides strategic direction, upholds the firm’s professional integrity, and continuously drives innovation in how services are delivered to clients across multiple sectors.
Tabitha Kurgat

Tabitha Kurgat is a results-oriented quality champion and co-founder of Cheror Lagat and Associates. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) degree from Strathmore University, is a CPA (K), currently pursuing a Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP) and undertaking an Executive MBA at Valar Institute, Washington D.C.
As the Head of Quality Assurance, Tabitha plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the firm maintains its reputation for excellence and integrity.She is responsible for:
- Ensuring that all deliverables consistently meet client expectations and professional standards.
- Overseeing staff recruitment to ensure only capable and competent professionals are hired.
- Coordinating continuous professional development and ongoing staff training to uphold high-quality work output.
- Leading internal audit quality reviews, compliance monitoring, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct across all departments.
- Ensuring that the firm adheres to international best practices and benchmarks in audit and assurance service delivery.
- Tabitha’s role is instrumental in ensuring that Cheror Lagat and Associates not only meets but exceeds industry expectations through operational excellence, people development and client satisfaction. She drives innovation in how services are delivered to clients across multiple sectors.
